Adventure yourself for a night in the Jungle with the Iban tribe and spend the other two nights in an authentic Iban longhouse.
The Ibans are one of the native tribes in Sarawak, formerly known as fierce headhunters. Nowadays, the Ibans are peaceful people, welcoming visitors to have an insight into their traditional way of living.
Kuching - Bukit Sadok (Betong) / Jungle Trek / Overnight
Pick up from your hotel and depart on a 4-5 hrs drive to the foothill of Bukit Sadok, a sacred mountain for the Ibans, located in Betong district. This will be the starting point of a jungle trek through rainforest and farmland of rubber trees, pepper and other local spices. The destination of your challenging hike is to a traditional Iban longhouse. This longhouse comprises of 16 families, most of them still practising Animism. Your 2 night's stay in the longhouse will be hosted by one of the families. Enjoy meals made of local farm and jungle products with your host family. (Lunch/Dinner included) Note: Basic accommodation with mattresses on the floor and mosquito nets. Sanitary facilities are very basic with no hot water.
Jungle Camping
On the second evening you have the option to spend a night in the jungle (camping equipment provided).
Perdu Longhouse / Overnight
Immerse in the daily life of the Ibans and join them in their activities such as farming, fishing, Hunting or collecting wild jungle vegetables. The daily activities vary depending on the seasons (harvesting season etc) and the weather conditions. Enjoy some jungle trekking and cool off in waterfall surrounded by amazing rainforest scenery. In the evening, spend time in the ‘ruai’ (common area of the longhouse) listening to the stories Being told by the villagers. (Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner included)
Bukit Sadok (Betong) / Kuching
After breakfast, depart longhouse on a trek and then continue by land drive back to Kuching with Stopover for lunch along the way. Drop off at your hotel. (Breakfast/Lunch included)

- Departure Time/Return Tim: 6.30 am (Day 1) / 5 pm (Day 3)
- Included: Hotel pick-up and drop-off (Kuching city centre), Transport by air-conditioned vehicle, English-speaking guide, Meals as mentioned in the itinerary, 02 nights Basic accommodation at Iban Longhouse & 01 night Jungle Camping, Longhouse fees.
- Not included: Meals or drinks or than mentioned in the itinerary, Personal Travel Insurance (recommended), Tips, 4WD transfer from foothill - Longhouse (v.v)*.
- Items to bring: Hiking shoes, Slippers, Sun protection (sun block & hat/cap), rain coat, Refillable water bottle, Swimsuit & Towel, Change of clothes for 3 says, Toiletries.
*On the first and Fourth day you will trek from the foothill to the longhouse and back. Please note that there are usually leeches on these trails. There are 2 different trails:
- Longer trail: Takes about 4-5 hrs and it brings you to the summit of Bukit Sadok.
- Shorter Trail: Takes roughly 2.5 hrs and requires to cross small streams.
- Alternatively, there is also an option by going with a 4WD, with an extra charge.
